Wow, masking all of that must have been miserable, but it was clearly worth it, the paint looks amazing.

Just picked up my bumpers and sliders from the powder coaters. They look great! Best $20 I've spent on this project.

Over the last couple of nights I have been working on windows and making the light buckets for the head and tail lights. I will post up some progress photos later tonight.

This will be the last update to the truck for a while as we are heading to Hawaii on Saturday

So, check back later for some photos.

Cheers,
-Steven

Got my bumpers and sliders reinstalled. They look AWESOME! I couldn't be happier. There are some areas that the coating was a little thick and pooled up when they baked it, but It still looks good.

Here they are before I installed them back on the truck:

And following are WAAAAY too many photos of the bumpers and sliders installed. You will also notice my other updates like the windows, windshield wipers, Land Rover badges and snorkel. I ended up buying the snorkel made for the Hilux. I brought out the heat gun and tweaked it and now it looks like it was made for this body.

Anyway, here are some photos:

So I decided for my mock-up to throw in the yank strap loosely stowed around the Hi-Lift... like I do after usage on the trail in real life.

My 1:1 has factory tint on the rear cargo doors, cargo glass, rear passenger doors, sunroofs and alpine windows. The front door glass and windshield are not tinted. So, I thought I'd do the same on my Scale truck. Also, when I off road, I usually have my driver's window all the way down and the passenger up, but to make it a little more interesting for my Scaler, I decided to have the passenger front window slightly open.

These last 2 photos are of the Hilux snorkel. I added a band of aluminum and a nut and bolt to represent the hose style clamp that is on my 1:1 version.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
-Steven

Since Everyone loves a list, I will let you know about the next few projects for this build.

1) Rear view mirrors - Ordered some and will paint and install when they arrive.

2) Finish head light and tail light lenses.

3) Make headlight and tail light housings.

4) Install #2 and #3

5) Install RC4WD lighting kit and clean up electrical spaghetti

6) Make license plate

7) Finish recovery points on front bumper (swiveling D-rings)

8) Respool 3-Racing winch with new winchline add new realistic hook and mount in bumper once my RC4WD hawse style fairleed gets here.

9) Make posts for the 3 off road lights on the bumper and get more LEDs for said lights

10) Waterproof steering servo and box that houses receiver, ESC, etc.

However, this will all have to wait until I get back from vacation.

Oh, yea... This is actually like number 4 on the list, but I still need to make those lousy feet for the roof rack. I am really not looking forward to this one.

I'm in awe! You should be proud of yourself. You've really done some amazing work with this. And you're right. The powdercoaters did a great job.

Now excuse me while I go and stare at those photos some more...

I have plans for it. Just have a huge punchlist of exterior stuff to tackle first. I do not want to scratch build it, but I do not think there is much of an option for me otherwise. I am keeping my eye out for an interior package from something like a JK or LR3 that I can modify.

And thanks everyone for the compliments... yer makin' me blush

I found a good photo of my 1:1 that is nearly the same angle as one of the shots I took of the Scaler last night:
