It's here

It's quite hilly, but once you've enjoyed the trail run up there's plenty on top that's even and great fun. Loads of exposed roots and notty lips/ledges, as well as nice narly trees to scramble thru.

I'm hoping to get back there soon so can/will get more pix that give a better idea of what's there. (was too busy playing last time, lol)

Default Opinions Please Winch

Righto gang in the quest for Scale Realism opinions please.

When you go wheeling in your 4x4 you can have a Control box attached to the winch with a Line to control it.

OK for a Model? In a Comp
I'm running short of space in the Jero and am looking for a solution.

The control box would plug into the Car when needed and would contain forward and Reverse switching and a small battery.

ive often thought about this mate, it will save weight and allow the use of 2 channel also could be plugged into a front or rear winch. i cant see why not..
only think is holding it and controller getting the way of steering and power

I'd say ok to control the winch, but why not just do what I've done on my 1:1 and do away with the wander lead, just install the controls on the dash????

seriously tho, I'd say yes but not to power it too.

Why not put the switch and power in your radio, you can put a 3.5mm mono headphone socket on both ends, then just plug a lead in when you need it.
As it's on the radio you could control it easily rather than a separate box.
You'd need a couple of feet of cable though otherwise you'd be pulling the truck all the time.

The plan was to attach the controls to a Cheapo 27crystal 2 Channel so it would be easy to operate.

I'll do it then its got some poke and its fast too not like these 3racing thingymebobs.

just got to tap a Hardened Steel Shaft to accept the Spool
