Thanks Joker!

Yep, from RC Mart or etamiya they are both about the same.

Good news on the R2 box being usable, I'm not worried about changing gear and its not going to be a speed freak either

At least I can order some tamiya Hummer rims and 1.9 flashpoints.

Default suitable motors

Hi all,
Ok what motors do you all use?

Obviously i suspect they are all 55 turn and above sorta area to get the run time up.

Has anyone put real power through tamiya TLT axles? I have some decent ish motors like 15 turn quad loads of oomph and spins up to silly RPM. Im thinking they will destroy the axles but am interested to hear your experiences with more powerful motors.

I use 35's in My Bully Axles.

I reckon a Decent set of Beefed up Tlt's with full bearings nicely lubed would take it.
Try it at the next Meet and when they explode we can all laugh at you!!

Well a CC-01 can handle 17x1 race motors (well mine did.. so did the stock Tamiya TEU-101bk which I still praise as the greatest ESC ever)

I'm hoping to run a race motor in my TLT mudder/racer type truck.

UK Andy is building a 6x6 at the moment not sure whether he's coming.

Axial Axles can be had on ebay for around £40 quid each
Tougher than Tamiya Ones. And Better i think.

Rc4wd do a Nice 2 Speed Transmission for a Reasonable price.
I know a Chap with Good Styrene Skills who's quite Reasonable..

I can Braze and Weld too

Don't forget that you need two 'passthrough' axles for an 8x8, like those found on the back of the Tamiya big rigs (drive in one side and out again on the other). I believe tlt/f350 axles can be modded to be passthrough, there is probably a 'how to' somewhere.

You could get round that by having One Transmission and 2 Transfer Cases.
