Default LSTR Business - Please Read....

The LSTR is the London Scale Trail Runners.

It started out as me and Dready meeting up to run near where we live in South West London.
Then Scott and Andy turned up, and before you know it we are something like 20 strong from all area's of London and surrounding counties.
LSTR is not the UK club, it is just the most organised of the UK clubs (thanks in part to my and Dready's efforts in running this section, but more because of the efforts of the members who turn up to meets and contribute to the general idea).

Here is my view on the meets:

The original idea behind the LSTR was to remain within the M25 (or very close to it). This is mostly because it is convenient to the London members.

But as more people hear about, and want to attend a LSTR meet - then naturally the net spreads wider. And then members who live further away find a really cool spot, then they want to do a meet there.

The only real question is should these meets be LSTR or not?
And there is no real answer to that.

If the London bods want to travel, then that's fine.
If not, then there is no problem to hold a 'within the M25' meet for those who don't want to travel.

But... then our meets get smaller as some will be at one, and some will be at the other.

I would like for the LSTR meets to be London based at least every other meet.
Like 'Home' one month, and 'Away' the next.
That sounds like a good solution to me.

The other option is to have LSTR meets in London on the last Sunday of the month (as it is currently),
and then to have an alternate meet on the second sunday for example. That way we would all have the choice to go to either, both or none of the months' meets.
This might be a better solution that running the meets on the same weekend.

LSTR is not my & Dready's club. We just started it.
It is ALL of our club, so what everyone thinks is VERY important.
At the end of the day, as long as we all get to meet up and have a laugh at least once a month then that is all we can really ask for.

I am more than happy for the LSTR section to be used as a one-stop-shop for organising all the UK meets. It makes sense as there is always a chance that some London members would travel to a meet elsewhere. And that members from father afield would travel to a London meet...
I've been chatting with a member in Wales who is planning to attend one of the LSTR meets soon. So let's keep it one big happy family.

So let's hear everyone's ideas......

EDIT... just put a poll up so we can vote on the best way to do it.....
http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47424

The result doesn't have to be the law... it's just to gauge opinion!

Default LSTR Meets

What's the best way to organise the LSTR meets?

After some discussion in this thread:
http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/sho...t=47273&page=2
I thought I would stick up a poll so we can vote on the best way to organise the LSTR and Almost LSTR meets.

I voted one meet every couple of weeks. LSTR end of month other meet 2nd weekend. That way we get two meets a month so if people are unavailable for whatever reason on one meet they will be able to make it to the next one.

wow that was a long post, normaly I would not read it but as it's the club thread I did.
I don't mind where we go, I go to Ashridge a lot with Sao,Airwolfie and Dubfunk (Tring STR)
So have plenty of time up the woods, it is nice to get out to new places and meet others.

I would like the meets to be on my rest days so I can go to all of them
but working shifts means missing some good trailing.
I think it should still be the LSTR we know where we are then.

Not telling you lot what I voted

But in seriousness I'll go where ever the GTG is, if I feel it is within reasonable distant...

One thing I would ask, if someone posts that they are meeting at a location on a certain date, don't hijack their thread and suggest somewhere else

So, who votes we meet in Swindon

Well, the second option covers that as well, just with less frequency.

So far the first choice is definitely more popular, so I guess people want more meets. 'ing great!! It's awesome to see these meets being so popular.

Personally, I'm going to find it hard to do 2 a month. But if people want to do them, there is no reason not to run the meets twice a month. Sounds great!

At the moment it seems like we will do last Sunday of the month in London, either at Sam's BMX track (the unofficial home of the LSTR), Ockshott, Ockham, Richmond, etc.

And then second Sunday up at Tring, Ashridge, Greenham, or.....?

Personally I think this sounds like a great solution. More meets, more people, more trucks, more fun.
I really hope most of the members can make most of the meets, so we can continue to grow as a group, and attract more bods to join in.

So its all good.

Either that or we all turn up and have a big Fight to settle it.

Now we just need someone with a Fancy Printer to get some Truck Decals Made up.
