I'm gonna start with paint so I'm not rushing it after the build. :D

Photos from Kyosho's 1988? catalog

In my Christmas stocking, Santa :nice: left a 37021 Le Mans motor (Brush/30turn), an SCW018 LED Light Bulb Set (Scorpion 2014), a LA43H Ball End set (5.8mm/Hard/12Pcs), a full set of Acer ceramic bearings, and an MIP ball diff. The MIP diff uses the t-nut holder, tension spring, and diff screw from a Kyosho ball diff. All those parts were in my stocking full of goodies as well.

Now it's just about watching Tower Hobbies for the new kit to turn-up... should be any day now.

Thanks for the photos Acro! I have a red tub and for paint I got

Duratrax
Racing Red
Pearl White
Basic Black

Tamiya
Champagne Gold Aluminum
Anodized Green

I know the driver will have a green jump suit.

I just ordered the hard ball ends. Forgot those. :D

Sidebar: The Duratrax Racing Red paint cap looks so close to the color of the red tub I have zero reservations about using it.

It's a lovely buggy, i also got one for Crimbo, goes really well.

Well mostly because unlike the soft as butter rear tyres the fronts seem rock hard.
They work on grass but cause chattering understeer on hard surfaces, can anyone recommend a softer replacement?

New bumper!

Strange,,... I stalked the Pargu website for quite awhile after I bought the kit but the 2 sets of rims for the Scorpion were always out of stock. :(

They have several listings on eBay, some of which are on sale for $10 off.

Funny :)

Completed the basic mock up. I'm still waiting on a few parts to arrive.

Nice bandwagon!

BadWagon 01-05-2015 01:22 PM

Thanks bud. I think the REC wheels and roof give it a nice touch. Right now I'm working on paint concepts and trying to decide how far I want to take this build. It may go where no Scorpion has gone before. LOL...

I did take it into my LHS (Hobby Town, with NO parts for a single car/truck I own) and everyone in there was ga-ga over it. Just goes to show how much of a classic this buggy really is... 30 years later and she's still turning heads.
