Vintage Monster Trucks..

Hey guys, heres some of my "Vintage" Clod fleet..Back when I first got involved with R/C ( about 20 years ago) Old school 1:1 monster trucks were ALL the rage.. so I built up a few of them, all using the clod chassis as a basic platform.. Enjoy..

"Excaliber" - ( Theres about 20 hours in painting that body..)

The "Michigan Ice Monster" ( not fully completed here..)

And the "Mad Dog 2"

Thanks- Yes, still have them- the Excaliber and Mad Dog are still both intact and complete, the Ice Monster got taken apart for another build BUT I still have ALL the parts for it to build another one some day..:D

Thanks Bro..! That Impala was an old Radio Shack junker that was supposed to have "Real" hydraulics..I ended up getting it from a buddy of mine. Its a hard plastic body, with LOTS of detail, unfortunatley its a tad small for anything I would have built using it, SO It ended up being a great candidate as a meal for the Monster Trucks instead..!! :nice:

Some cool trucks there, you should make this a old school monster truck rc thread.

Did you know the NRCTPA has a racing class for those kind...we call them RETROS!

Man I miss my clodbuster.. When I got it new The excalibur truck swas still pretty hot.. always loved that paint scheme... Thinking about bringing my WK back to stock and building up an Awsome Kong II.... That was a chevy stepside right? been a few years since I followed monster trucks..
Amazing paint and detail work on your MTs:Happybounce::Happybounce:

bronco69 10-03-2009 06:54 PM

I think Awsome Kong II was a ford stepside like the blackfoot body?

DUDE!! You do some sweet old school stuff, amazing paint jobs!!! All my clods are old school kind of stuff, and I am currently building a 91 Bigfoot. Very nice work man!!
Here are mine. I would like an old school monster sticky thread.

Basher clod

Bullhead

Bullhead with basher body painted like Super Pete

91 Bigfoot, ESP chassis, not done
