That Dutatrax paint you have...is it acrylic/water base?

Be cautious with the Tamiya PS paint. It is solvent-based. Painting in a basement may cost you a few neurons.

Its a dirt basement, I go down, spray, and split. The Duratrax paint is not very obnoxious. Maybe your right about the water base vs solvent.

No water in the ingredients. Still smells nothing like the Tamiya model paint I've used,,... That stuff was killer.

Mama said she wanted a car to run with the kiddo's Scorpion, so here's round one of putting her Beetle together. She said she wants the body to be black, pink, silver, and white. Ol' Sup will have to come up with a fly paint job.

Yup. Bug roll bar is straight, and a little taller. It looks like the body mounts for the bug are compatible with the Scorpion roll bar, but won't line up right with the bug body.

The wife's car is All done! Her instructions were to use pink, black, white and silver, but absolutely no yellow.

That bug looks great, even for being pink!!

Finally got the Body the way I want it.

Now I can start the fun part.

Recommendations:

Avoid Duratrax Paint if Possible

Don't use modeling masking tape "paper"

Use something like Duratrax tape made of plastic

Goop-Off + BBQ Skewer + Paper Towel are great for Touch-Up. This can remove paint without harming the body. If the paint is fully cured its an up hill battle but during a "paint job" for some over spray its great.

If you do use some Goop-Off, wash the lexan before you re-tape or repaint.

Thanks, started collecting last August and finished around Christmas.

One of the diff bearings was kinda tough but the trans plate seems to have forced it into place.
