I am using steel actually, what I like with it is how it is stronger for the same thickness, so you can actually use thinner for the same strenght (I use it for chassis only). For areas that will not see much stress (for instance rounded inner wheel wells and other more cosmetic details) I plan to use JB quik (epoxy jb weld) to attach the parts to the chassis.
Do you prepare the aluminum surfaces somehow before bonding with shoe goo? Like etching or something like that? Do you use it for chassis structure as well?
