Motor and esc warm. Battery cold.. pefect mix. I wired in a little 25 mm cooling fan to the reciver and stuck it to the speed contolers heat sink....just in case. The speed is insane it would need a front defuser to keep its nose down realistically, but that was just horsing about putting it to the test, I need to find a mini desert, and thats hard in England full stop haha

I wonder what the neighbors would think if you started poring bags of contractors sand out in the parking lot and street. Just tell them its for a beech party.....

Wont be pleased thats for sure...

now to make this thing grip on tarmac I need to change the front wheels or tires. Two issues with this... one these wheels are twenty years old and the design is virtually obsolete, so road tires are impossible to find!. And two I cant get a standard 1/10 modern wheel to fit and it dont use hex fittings... its just a spindle that seats two bearings instead....

and I dont really want to shred the original sand tires on tarmac??

Went out to the local field today that just happens to have a gravel car park too

Had a ball for it's first proper outing. massive range as the field is the half the size of a football field.... well point in fact it's a 5 aside football field haha

it was slightly muddy out there and that mad for some funny jumps with a big splat at the end

some messy shots

The ESC is not water proof so some care is needed but it did not get through the fire wall thank god!

all this as an explanation is no good without a video!!!

So I am going to make a camera cradle to fix to my controller to get some wide shots

Well I did beast it hard I really wanted to stress test the 25 year old parts and see what it could really do... I had about 15 to 20 mins of hard driving from it

So Sunday just gone was a cloudless, windless whole 19 deg c woohoo!

So out with the Sand Scorcher I cant get over how ballistic it is haha... I set it free across a field and with in seconds it tried to cross all time and relative dimensions in space!......until it hit a we bump about a 100 yards out...

then I did it again

it was a really bad crash.... as it a total loss

BUT.... I fixed it within the hour and was back out again... this it suposed to be an on going scale shell, but It never got that far haha,

anyway It ran flawlessly for a good hour after that avoiding steep bumps,

I was starting another video with some off road action but before I could even move into position this happened

at 40 seconds.... crunch

well it's to be expected of such an antique part....25 year at least!

I am bidding of a lot of spare for this currently and will be making up some metal shafts at the weekend.

Its all back together now. And looks fine. Its just week because the doors and the bonnet have been cut out.

I will try make some metal shafts this weekend too.... I will finish the shell and the it will be just be for display purposes. And then its onto a basher body. I am leaning towards a rail? Or maybe another original idea I have under my hat?

I am looking for a scorcher or more sand falcon parts to do another, I gotta have two of these things now haha

I run out of bits haha, I got the things you sent me coming and some stuff on e-bay I am looking into, but apart from that I am fresh out of parts... I have (believe it or not) started my first 4x4 off roader a few months back but halted the project to build the T/A and the Baja for summer time play ... even though I am part of a scale 4x4 forum I don't own a single scale 4x4 :rolf:

I am going to start that up again soon but for now I am to hooked on sand scorchers
