OK, I understand. Such large diameter wheels cannot fit.You need 1.9 or better 1.55 wheels/tires from RC4WD. If you want use these wheels, you'd better look for another solution. Use Tamiya DF-03 rear lower arms with knuckle might help.

A little update to keep the story ongoing.

Made alot of thoughts last weeks about the right suspension choice. Finally I found the best solution for this project. By chance I stumbled across a picture of upgrade aluminum DF03 lower arms and I bought a set on ebay. Well...they are perfect for my build. Exactly what I need and they are easy to mount without making further changes to the chassis. The stance is just perfect and the arms are quite filigrane which gives just the right look. I Will go for same wishbone setup for the rear. Found a real Sand Rail that has same wishbone setup at rear. So I will not break with anything real.

So far I just fixed the front arms and flexed off the strange front shock stay. I will fab my own as needed later. These shock mounts on the pictures are just temporare brackets. Hope you like it.

And this is the real one with wishbone setup at rear instad of the usual trailing arm.

Default update front suspension

Got some new parts today and I could not let my hands off it. So I started cutting off the original front lower wishbone and upper tie rod mounting points with an angle grinder and tested the new front suspension mount. Perfect fit.

Still have to drill holes to tighten it to the chassis. Did not have enough time today to do that.

Thanks for the nice words!

Got the front suspension mounted to the frame. Feels tough and the damper/spring rate is just perfect. Shocks working very smooth and soft.

Made also a short mockup to see how the motor, gearbox and rear suspension look together. V8 will be changed later. This setup will be quite the final I guess.

Indeed. I did not like the shock towers either.

The rims are from RC-Channel and are available in 0 and +5 mm offset.
