Hi Todd -Thanks very much !, glad you enjoyed the build, I do a lot of "visual storytelling" in my day job, but it was nice to apply it to something a bit more fun,,,

Thanks Spidubic - I have the original prototype print of the engine doing just that !

Amazing build! I am very new to this hobby, and this thread was very inspiring and informative. I hope to build one that's a fraction as good as your builds are. I may pm/pester you for some info down the road. First thing is rearranging the basement so I have a work-space.

Hi Sith Lord - Glad you enjoyed the build - the video is quite extreme and relentless - have you tried turning the music up twice as loud ? - I find it helps

Default Awesome

this thread will take some reading over and over, i've been buying a few of the bits from shapeways over the past few months, and now i can see me buying a few more too, because the finished products deserves the full Monty.
i can only imagine the hours youve spent designing them and then tweaking and building them into the finished body, not to mention the hours spent painting .
my only comments would be, can the wheels be done with different offsets?, i can see why you went for the extra 36mm at the rear, but maybe reducing it to 10mm each side .?? is that a big job to change the files? or maybe offering 5, 10 or 18 mm version?
just a thought
certainly got my juices flowing

Hi mibaxx, Thanks again for sharing the love on this build - As this Scorcher is the product of my first ever published build, I don't think I could ever part with it - but every man has his price !

Hi DAVE2166 - Thanks for the interest in my Scorcher parts - There was indeed much time spent on the designing, and then tweaking the parts to get the fit as good as I could, and then the painting and building - but I enjoyed the whole process, and having other builders complement my efforts really inspired me to keep going !

As for the wheels, I think perhaps I didn't explain the offset very clearly

Each of my rear wheels adds 9mm to the rear track (compared to the stock wheels), so it widens the rear track by a total of 18mm

For the fronts, each wheel adds 3mm to the front track, making a total of +6mm on the front track, compared to the stock front wheels

A 9mm increase for the rears ( and 3mm for the front) was about the most I could extend by, without the hub mounts actually being outside of the wheel rims.
Presently, I don't have plans to make these wheels with alternative off-sets, as the work involved is substantial, and I'm currently deep into another build which is taking up all my "build time"

If you're looking for a +4mm or +5mm offset, you might be able to achieve this using the stock wheels, and some appropriate spacers

Here's a couple of the rear of the Sorcher, first with the stock wheels

And now with my Junkyard Stance 10 spoke rims, showing the +9mm on each side

Thanks again for the interest

Ok, the first baby is always the most important baby. So let me thinking about your price... Mmhh...probably a price I never can pay...

But I'm still dreaming of it.
