![]() Looks great man! It looks like it has a nice weight to it just in the still shots, how does it look when driving? Like nice "heavy lumber" to it and such? lol

![]() Little more progress
![]() Whipped up a towbar for vehicle recovery ![]() Used the hc4 bed with homemade frame and axle and some BuddyL wheels to make a m105 trailer. ![]() Also added a bench vise to the front bumper ![]() A Jerry Can in the stock front step location ![]() And a Hobart motor welder in the bed. ![]() The Hobart is hiding an air pump which will get its own esc and run the smoke unit I’m working on. ![]() Thanks!
And with everything going into this truck, the tires were going flat. So I picked up some deuces wild foams from crawler innovations which are good for rigs over 8 lbs. ![]() Changing the tires like a boss ![]() So many wires. Changed from my 3ch radio to a 6ch. The air pump is on ch3 which is a dial on this radio. It’s program mixed to ch2 so it speeds up with throttle input, but it’s also manually adjustable so I can make it chooch while parked, or idle up for winching. The shift servo is ch5, and I found a receiver controlled switch for ch6 to run the smoke box so I can turn it off or on, uh remotely. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And I ran it around a little. ![]() Nice job, the m35 is looking great! I'm loving all the details and functionality you're adding. Those outriggers are really cool.
I might redo the towbar you used on the chevy, for a more wrecker style lifting drawbar. If you put a set of D-ring shackle mounts on the rear bumper, you could remake the K shaped bumper-lift tow bar with the pivot at rear. Then you'd be able to swap between shackles, the bar, or leave the eyes empty I see the winch lines have the snatchblock hooks, are the top attached to the boom equipped with hooks also? Have you seen the led beacons? Last edited by frizzen : 07-24-2019 at 11:10 PM. |

I get what you’re saying about the tow bar. My design was loosely based on the military’s towing setup. They use a tow bar that either has feet which attach to the front bumper shackle mounts for flat towing, or attaches to axle clamps that clamp to the front axle and a wiffle tree (spreader bar) attaches to the towed vehicle’s shackles and provides a center lift point for slung towing. Yeah the original winch hooks are hanging from some m2 cross bolts I put under the upper pulley to make it a 2 part line (10 pounds) so I can unhook and have a one part line (5 pounds). Ideally I’d have a ring on top of the hook pulley so I could do a 3 part lift line (15 pounds). I might have to put a longer line on the winch for that. I already put double pulleys on the tip of each boom for 3 part line. I have seen them, but I already have a 10 pack of 10mm yellow flashing LED’s prewired for 6v so that’s what I used. They look about right based on the convoy lights on some of the 1:1 trucks I’ve played with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
