![]() Fantastic thread that I keep coming back to. I wonder can you help clear up the mystery of the rear shock stay on the Scorpion variants, mine has the short horns (sc-13 I think) for short shocks and see that some of your buggies have taller horns. Which is which as it were and what sort of shocks can I easily get which will fit the shorter type? I'm finding replacement 10mm clamps to be very expensive.

This shock tower is custom made. It was made taller in order to fit the longer OT-43 Optima/Javelin/stinger shocks. ![]() ![]() This car has PG-14 & PG-65 Gold Kyosho Gallop MKII shocks. ![]() This car has a custom shock tower that is the same dimensions as the stock SC-13 part. ![]() Hi there, what tires would fit the yellow plastic beetle rims front and rear. Are there off the shelf items that can be used? Thanks in advance.
By the way it turns out the trashed Scorpion I bought back in 1988 was probably a beetle looking at some of the bits I got with it including a tub cover, body mounts and tall roll bar that are all knocking around with the spares. Quote:

Any tire with a 1.6 in. (40mm) bead for the rear and any tire with a 1.9 in. (50mm) bead for the front will fit. Proline, CRP, and Duratrax made some aftermarket tires for the Kyosho size wheels back in the day. Kyosho - (5 rib) Front Tire #SC-26 Kyosho - (Block Pattern) Rear Tire #SC-27 Early versions of these say "Good Year." The later versions had "Sand Super" on them. Kyosho - (Spiked) Rear Tire #SC-84 Kyosho - (3 rib) front tire #SC-90 These only came with the words "Sand Super" on the sidewall. Kyosho Option House - (A) pattern tread rubber Rear Tire #1873 These say "Dunlop" on the sidewall. Kyosho Option House - patterned tread rubber Front Tire #1875 These say "Bridgestone" on the sidewall. Kyosho Option House - #W-5072 Ultima Pro front tires These say "Bridgestone" Kyosho Ultima - (3 rib) Front Tire #SC-26 These have "Bridgestone" & "Sand Super" on the side. The new RC10 Classic tires may also fit as well but I have not tried them. Team Associated RC10 Classic "Proline Edge" Front Tire - #6865 Team Associated RC10 Classic"Proline Champion" - #6815

![]() Thanks HPC22.
Will anyone comment on the likelyhood of the RC10 repros fitting the yellow Beetle hubs? [IMG] ![]() ![]() What about these for the front? ![]() Last edited by danrkelly : 11-22-2013 at 06:58 AM. |

![]() The rear will fit, I don't know about the fronts, but they should be 1.9". This Kyosho OT-30 will fit even if they are 1.6"

![]() Hey Lar, OT30's on the way but still not convinced about the SM25 (Sandmaster) I've seen, I think they're about 2" and worried they'll be loose. Seller not replying to my questions at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2910298932... 4.m1438.l2649

![]() I’m not sure, but I think they are 2.1” and won’t fit your 1.9” wheels. This will fit http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-PIN-SP...#ht_495wt_1015

![]() Back in the mid 80's, I had Tamiya tires and wheels mounted on my Kyosho Scorpion because they were better all-around tires when you wanted too take your Circuit 1000 Buggy to the racetrack. Pictured below are the Holiday Buggy rear & Rough Rider front tires along with all the extra hop-up parts that I used to recreate that old-school set-up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
