There is an overseas company called Colt that makes RC bodies. From what I saw online they are pretty good. I wondered if that is who made the Subaru body but it has the R2 sticker on it. I wonder if they made it for R2. If so they are supposed to be comparable with HPI and Proline. http://www.colt.com.tw/

edit: Link just goes back to main page, on left hand side menu it says 1/10 rally car! Not bad looking at all!

Didn't notice that. Doesn't look bad at all.

Actually the body is pretty solid. I cut out the rear wing just to see and I must say I was impressed. It feels pretty much like any tamiya body.

The lines are well defined and are not too thin too.

I was waiting for that subaru body to arrive before I order the Focus body. I didn't want to order two bodies if they turn out to be ****. I'm proud to say it's definitely worth the 22$ investment!

I just got a quote from www.callie-graphics.com for decals for my Puma car. They could do them for about $18. That is not bad and might be something to check out if you need custom decals. Its a little more than I want to pay so I am just going to paint on want I can and use what's in my left over decal bag from previous builds and get it as close as I can.

Got the Subie body painted last night, looking great! Put away the paint cans and blew the dust off the airbrush...I'm a little rusty, and was never good to begin with. Mixed up a metal flake blue and it looked close, but when backed with white it came out a bit light. No matter, won't notice when it's covered in dust. Time for decals...and there's a LOT of them!

Not much to write home about just yet. 1 more decal sheet to go. Deviated from the box art a bit on the front fenders. Didn't quite like how the decals laid out.

Blue is a sharp color. Looks like you did good painting. No bleeding under masks that I can see.

That looks great OS! I especially like the little splash of grey or silver on the rear panels!

Thanks gents. The blue has some metal flake in it, I'll have to get a pic out in the sun - looks really good. Doesn't match the decals at all, but good enough for me!

The silver stripe part is one of the decals from Tamiya. I'm usually not one for all the decals, I prefer clean bodies but I'm having fun with these rally bodies. It's soothing in a strange way. Cut, peel stick, repeat. Cool to see it all come together. I brought everything up to the kitchen table and my daughter got her princess stickers out, and I gave her an old body to put them on...should have got a pic, it's kind of funny looking.

So... what are your thoughts on the XV now that you've driven it? It sounds like you like it. I think a lot of people including myself have been sitting on the side lines with all these options out there to see if the XV will become the standard. Does it blow the competition away?

You do have a lot of cool toys. I'll make you a deal. I'll build a rally course next to my scale park, you move in next door. you can play in my sandbox but you have to share your toys. deal?

P.S. I have an old defender body with thomas the train stickers all over it. maybe we could do some trading.

HAHA! MY son and daughter have both taken their turns at decaling an old body up with some of mine and some of their own Hello Kitty or Spider Man stickers! That's the best part of this entire hobby, sharing it with my kids!
