• Gates will be a minimum of 12" wide (so mind your width).

Good Luck with an 11'' track width
That gives you 1/2'' ish to play with either side.

Twin Hammers now legal
So you can run it in class 3 as it comes out of the box.

The SORRCA website/2013 rules have been updated to reflect the following:

• You must run a rail chassis (for example: Bruiser/Mountaineer, SCX-10, Reign RC K2-3S, 3L, 4, 5, MFM, X-Trail, CR-01, UTE, etc...). No TVP (twin vertical plate) chassis' or frame rail extensions on a TVPs. Tub chassis' are allowed, but chassis must be covered by the body and follow all other scale rules per class guidelines. An example of a tub chassis vehicle is CC-01, DF01, Twin Hammers, etc.

I see the guys up north are trying to make the non scale nationals even more difficult to attend this year,

The new plan is that you do 2 sections on Saturday, play on Sunday and do 2 sections on Monday, and for the first time ( and no good reason) they plan to pull Saturdays sections so you can't do the Sunday or Monday.
Nice, 300 miles and 3 days away for 4 sections

Thats why I dont waste my time coupled with the fact that they dont run scale points.
Pointless Event that will never grow into anything ever worth attending. (imho)

Maybee we should look into doing something properly...........

that sounds like a better idea. from what i've heard about it from you guys i know i'd never go up to that one. doing our own one will take some doing but from my experience helping out at my local tracks national meeting it will be well worth it.

The difficulty in doing it down here is that its basically flat. We would need to find a comp worthy area capable of taking 50+ drivers, room for parking, camping and b 'n' b close by.

But, I agree with you. We should.

I'm not sure competing with them would really help us or the hobby, and as Andy says finding a suitable site is critical before we even thinking about such a venture.

The venue they have is good and to be fair the people are fun as well, it just needs fine tuning, maybe the new TTC/G5 recon idea they are starting with will loosen the grip on the scale side.

I Agree, the Scale Nats name should be changed!

It shall be called:

"The comp where everyone has a laugh and isn't bothered with scale points, because someone down south does enough worrying about it for everyone!"
