Nope, I havent forgotten about the Hormiga twins!

Cars fixed and I start working at 3:00 tomorrow, im gonna be busy but im going to try and work on this as much as I can.

Also, I was talking to a friend about this and now he wants to build a 1/3 scale Hormiga for use in our airsoft wars! If anything forms off from that ill be sure and post pics of it.

Cheers,
-John-

Nope, its not dead! Ive found some more reference pics of both the camper and the flatbed and Im using them to create 3D models of them in sketchup.

In a couple of days I should have both the Hormiga and the Motorhome done. Hopefully these models can make them easier to make out of styrene.

Cheers,
-John-

I got the Cab finished, I shortened it up and it looks alot better.

I still have to add the frame and such.

And with that finished, I started on the Camper.

Cheers,
-John-

Another

As you can see, I added the VW logo onto the front as well as the frame underneath.

Those vertical lines are about where the rear axle will be. You can also see the gas tank and fill spout mounted as well.

Interior shot. Roomy, isnt it?

The wheel Im hoping I can make out of a semi truck wheel.

Cheers,
-John-

Both CAD and Blueprints, both of which are finished for the flatbed. The Camper is gonna be a tougher one, they added some odd things to it when the camper shell was mounted.

Cheers,
-John-

ITS ALIVE!!! *Crazy Laughter*

Its just most of the chassis at the moment, Im working on getting the drive line mounted up and then itll be onto the body. With the ride height, I should be able to use the Flat Irons I bought for the Humvee on this build.

Cheers,
-John-

lol, no offense intended, but you could have just as well saved some money on the CAD program and just used a refrigerator box to do you mock up. still could have even called it CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) lol

mmmm sketchup....

looks like a good start! I think your plan for the front wheels is only going to be tricky in terms of converting to hex drive(from big rig fronts that use bearings) + still having the wheel fully covered with the wheel nut on, you might have to make the centre cap removable.
