One video, don't forget to switch it to 480p

Looks like the on-board camera works ok, just need to tilt it down slightly.

Excellent vid Rikk. One thing it doesn't highlight, how much it rained when we first got there - if anybody had seen us...

As far as I'm concerned, it is still on!! Weather looks promising so far, but we all know that can change!!

I think we should try to get there for 10, because in good weather, walkers, cyclists, dogs, you name it, they get out there and fill up the parking lot!

So who is coming then? I'm guessing Rikk and Graham so far?! Well with me and Sao, possibly Paul and Mark, that makes six already!

Just a side note, if it does rain, the bit we had our first ever Ashridge meet has ample trees to hide under, albeit they have no leaves, but they certainly take away a lot of the rain. Just bring your WELLIES(!!!) and a good raincoat, and you'll be fine!
I'll try to get up real early on Sunday and give you a "live" report what it's like over here! Just check here before heading off.

Default I want a multi-axled truck!

Hello All,

I've been watching tons of youtube vids and reading lots of multiaxle truck threads on here and I really like the idea.

Rikk, my Honco brother has pointed out some facts (that I tried to overlook!) of how limiting they can be - in fairness I was looking at trying to buy Vforce's Hemtt but due to the detail in his build, its not within my budget. Leo is also on the lookout for me.

Ideally I would love to build an 8x8 trial truck, was looking at military but don't think I have the styrene skills for all the details. Plus, trial type trucks have a cab, flat bed and exo cage, something that might standup to the abuse from a LSTR meet !!

The first question - who has a truck with 6 or more wheels? Are you going to Ashridge on Sunday, could you bring it so I can have a butchers?

Secondly - do you really need to have a 3 speed gearbox, what would be wrong with fitting RC4WD R2 tranny http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=410 or are they not strong enough/wrong gearing.

Thirdly - I asked a question on another part of the forum ref axles - and have found an online retailer that can supply F350/TLT axles for $50 + postage from HK. Is that about the going rate?

Fourthly - Please bear with me here... are Tamiya rims 1.9

All advice greatly appreciated.

Elliot

Question 1: I dont anymore so no

Question 2: The R2 would be just fine, people use the 3speeder purely for the gear range but its not completely necessary.

Question 3: Yeah thats pretty much the best price, that from RcMart?

Question 4: Yes, Mostly.
